The arrival of studs at Georgetown Volkswagen caused quite a stir. To see so many at once was somewhat overwhelming. Their appearance was also unique, since they were all steel and pre-cut to their installed length. All of which made for rapid assembly.
An interesting fun fact regarding the studs has to do with the mounting tabs which secure the studs to the steel frame structure. These mounting tabs were secured to the steel beams using nails. You read that right. We wouldn’t have believed it if we didn’t see it. The operator used a power nailer to fire steel nails into the steel beams. Technology is a wonderful thing!
